Deployment Manager

Job Function

Identifying, facilitating, and co-ordinating pilots/deployments of investee company technologies in member companies, and externally.

Key Responsibility Areas

  • Promotion of broader deployment

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Champion piloting of investee company technologies in member companies, and externally as appropriate
  • Identify specific target applications for the technology
  • Facilitate and work closely with the Operations teams at member companies to execute the pilots, and create case studies
  • Post successful piloting, work closely with the operations teams to facilitate speedy progress on the deployment process followed within the member companies
  • Working with portfolio and member companies, develop and implement a process for sharing results / lessons learned from member company pilots/deployments (within confidentiality restrictions) to promote broader deployment / technology take-up 
  • Work with portfolio and member companies on data gathering for agreed GHG impact metrics 
  • Keep CI Leadership team closely updated with progress, and identify and seek help when needed to overcome hurdles
  • Liaise with focal points in oil and gas companies in relation to technical and investment proposals
  • Reviewing and screening of opportunities to identify technical challenges and determine priorities
  • Develop and maintain an extensive network
  • To undertake the role of Board Member for new ventures
  • To liaise with OGCI’s Board Members for each start-up and to look for pilots within the oil and gas companies and externally
  • To supervise Deployment Engineer

Main Interfaces



Education and Professional Qualifications Required
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering (e.g. Chemical, Mechanical, Petroleum or Geosciences)
  • Familiarity with Financial and commercial concepts
  • Managerial capability
  • Multi-disciplinary background
  • Substantial operational experience in the Oil and Gas Sector (Upstream or Downstream)
  • Strong performance track record in onsite operational roles in O&G, or O&G service company operations
  • Follow-on service company sales/client rep experience is favourable
  • Strong Technical background, with an understanding of operational implementation processes, excellent analytical skills and the ability to interface with personnel in Engineering, Operations and Health & Safety
  • Working understanding of Statistics is desirable
  • Process control experience is advantageous

Additional Information

  • The position is based in London or Houston. Eligibility to work in the final location is mandatory
  • Domestic and international travel will be required from time to time (approximately 20-25%)
  • Diverse locations of OGCI may result in out of hours meetings from time to time
  • Will be required to visit operational facilities
